We checked out Wallowa Lake today. You can park and walk down into a sandy area where the river feeds into the Lake. Lots of wildlife. Seagulls surprisingly and lots of mallards and other birds we don't know yet. Haley did a lot of ice skating and Kelsey enjoyed jumping around in the freezing water. Ceniza and Bean enjoyed themselves, but weren't too fond of the cold. It was about 38 degrees when we went. 
Wallowa lake kind of reminds me a Donner Lake. It's about the same size and one side of it is speckled with summer cabins. It's not as built up as Donner which is nice.
